Hey Squids! How are you? I'm good. Do you want to know why I'm good? It's because that game that a few of you are aware of existing finally has a public release demo and not just some random youtube video that is suggested when you watch videos of cats falling into bins as previously available!

STORY!

Freestyle - Tales of Itch is a tale of one idiots dream and determination to be like everyone else. Cactus has always felt that his existence has come up short due to not having fingers. In fact he has become so crazed by it that he deems worthiness is rated based on how much cutlery he can bend. Stupid Cat is having none of that and somewhat reluctantly sets off on an adventure to try and stop him.

ABOUT!

Freestyle - Tales of Itch is something that has been in my mind since I first created most of these characters in 1995. I lacked the ability to be able to put together a game back then and my focus was creating comic book stories that revolved around Stupid Cat and the gang anyway. Then I discovered Scorpion Engine...

The concept around the series is simple. When creating anything based around this universe, it's created freestyle. Almost no planning was ever done while working on the comics (and now the game) and any planning that might have been done is not set in stone. I would basically come up with the story as I drew each comic panel. A lot of the levels take inspiration from games that shaped my gaming childhood. Much like the comics, I reference a lot of things but in a fun way.

Final game will include 40+ levels as well as 20 hand drawn comic pages to tell the story throughout the game. It will include issue 7 of the Freestyle comic in pdf format as a prelude to the games story and game manual in pdf format. Game will be released in adf, whdload and standalone windows emulation.

ABOUT THE DEMO!

This is a demo of the first world of the game. The demo itself is basic platformer fare to ease the player into the gameplay and setting. Later levels change things up considerably with genre changes and many more surprises!

CONTROLS!

Up for jump, button to fire when fire wool power up has been collected. I hope to have 2 button support in the final game.

REQUIREMENTS!

I've got limited ability to test the game but it seems to run okay on my crappy laptop, Amiga 500 1mb with pistorm runs amazingly and Amiga 600 2mb with 4 mb fast ram seems to run fairly well as well (Some stuttering on a later level will be fixed in the final game). Basically, it either needs fast ram available or a faster cpu. I haven't tested on a stock A500 for a while but it was a bit sluggish when I last ran it. I don't have the ability to test on an Amiga 1200 so hopefully it runs okay on that as well.

Hopefully no major bugs are still present but this is a work in progress so consider these levels unfinished as I keep changing things. Let me know if something is broken in the comments.

ENJOY!

Anyway, Enjoy! And hopefully I'll have the full release available later this year!
